Band Testimonials
.
We had Twelve Bars from Mars booked to play at our 1920’s Jazz age
themed Art Deco, Gatsby, Groom and Groom wedding at Clay House in Halifax in
August 2014. From our very first enquiry by email after we googled local Jazz
musicians we couldn’t have been happier.
Carole got in touch and we discussed our ideas. Her enthusiasm for the
event was the seal to the deal and we booked them to play in the evening. We
had already listened to some of their music online. We had also started to
follow them on twitter to see when they played. When we mentioned it to the
staff at the venue we had hired they were thrilled as they had played there
once before and the staff said they were very good – so we were pleased we had
made a good choice.
We discussed the sounds and types of music we wanted with Twelve Bars
from Mars and they even agreed to come dressed in the 1920’s theme of the
evening. We have a beautiful memory of Carole playing double bass lit by the
lights on the music sheet!
On the night they made a wonderful sound. They really made the
atmosphere – not too loud so we could chat – but just that smooth
cabaret jazz sound with some beautiful vocals. We have some lovely photos
of them playing.
We really couldn’t have asked for a nicer sounding Jazz band or nicer
people to play on our special day and I could happily recommend them if you
want to add that something special to an event or celebration!”
Wedding
'Thanks so much for playing at our , evening do. You and the band did a fantastic job. You were very flexible and eager to fit our requirements at every stage. All of the feedback from our guests was positive – your music was very accessible and blended very well with the mood of the evening. One of the highlights of my wedding was looking around the room and seeing everyone smiling and chatting while not competing with the band. There was the hubbub of fun and relaxation that I will never forget.
Your standard of musicianship was very high and you seemed to meet the needs of the audience at different levels - some wanted to listen, some wanted it in the background.
Many thanks again. Hope you get loads more work.
Peter and Rachel, Keighley
